PAN card documents: new, correction & reprint (2026 checklist)

Most PAN applications get delayed for one avoidable reason: a mismatch between the name, date of birth or address on the form and the supporting proof. Fix that before you apply and the process is usually smooth.

For a new PAN

• Proof of identity — Aadhaar, Voter ID or Passport.
• Proof of date of birth — birth certificate, 10th marksheet or Passport.
• Proof of address — Aadhaar, utility bill or bank statement.
• Recent passport-size photograph.

For a correction (name / DOB / spelling)

You need your existing PAN copy plus a proof that shows the corrected detail exactly as you want it printed. The single most common mistake is applying with a proof that still shows the old spelling.

For a reprint / lost card

A reprint uses the same PAN and needs identity and address proof only — no data change. Confirm your current details are correct before ordering, otherwise apply for a correction instead.

Before you submit
